Down & Disabled Shooter Range Course
Including One Hand Technique

Develop Essential Skills in the Event You are
Down & Disabled in a Self-Defense Situation


Chief Instructor Jim Schiefer will be conducting a two-part training class, One Handed Technique and Down and Disabled Shooter from 0900 – 1100 hours at Emeralda Range.

Vertical Divider
Part 1
Will teach you to stay in the fight even if you don’t have the use of one hand. Loading, unloading and clearing jams will be covered.

Part 2
Will cover shooting from the ground.  Prone, right and left side and upside down. 

What you will need: 
Firearm, holster, magazine pouch, two or three magazines, eye and ear protection,  75 rounds of ammo, other than .22, and a large piece cardboard or blanket to lay on, on the ground.  All shooting  and reloading will be done from the ground.  So once your down, your down until the end.

Classroom time is from 9:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m.  at Emeralda Range. Bring a chair to the range.

​The course is limited in size to 8 students to allow for a high degree of personal instruction, particularly at the range.
This class is limited to VSS Members ONLY.

Fees for the class are $20. Ammo will not be provided or available for purchase. Range Fees Processed When Making Reservation.

Members may cancel activities themselves, and receive refunds when the activity is a week or more in the future. Alternatively, the member may request assistance by emailing the club at reservations.sys@vssclub.org. Members must request cancellations and refunds by email if the activity date is within a week. In this case, refunds will issue if the club can backfill the cancellation with another member.
