Skills Development
Purpose:
Develop training/shooting exercises geared towards self defense scenarios to allow members to improve their gun handling skills. The intent is not to turn you into some sort of Urban Commando or to have you compete against other club members, but rather to work on improving the speed and accuracy of your own individual skill set. We will "borrow" heavily from exercises set forth in the NRA PPITH and PPOTH Course, and also from scenarios/stages established for IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) shoots. The intent is to have exercises that resemble potential real-life situations. Development: We need to identify several club members who are experienced shooters and are willing to devote some time and energy to serve on a committee to administer such a program. If you are interested contact Floyd Dunstan, or Dave Agnew. Send us a email listing your experience, interests, etc. Dave and I will start the "ball rolling." However, eventually, this program will have to be picked up by committee members. |
