The Villages Straight Shooters club's major priorities are Gun Safety, Firearms Education, and Marksmanship. In accordance with those priorities, the club offers monthly member meetings and educational seminars with a variety of topics presented.
If you are new to the shooting sports or home and self defense topics, picking up a few pointers at the range is not sufficient to get a concealed carry license nor be a competent and responsible gun owner. A full basic pistol safety class is the only way to start, not a quicky class at a gun show or a few tips at the range.
The VillagesSecurity.org team periodically offers education programs such as Basic Pistol Safety and AR-15 Orientation. Classes are open to Villagers and other central Florida residents. To learn more go HERE.
A variety of classes are also available through other independent certified instructors in the central Florida area.
